Looking for that perfect gift for someone who has everything? Consider touching a his or her heart by making a donation in their name to a child in Lexington.
Dear friend,
Each year the Bluegrass Junior Women’s Club (BJWC) sponsors a program called Santa’s Shoppers. Working with the Director of Social Work for the Fayette County Public Schools, we identify children who need some of life’s most basic needs, such as new shoes for school. On the first weekend of December, we take these children shopping to buy a new pair of shoes, a coat and Christmas presents for their families. Afterwards, we have a party where the children wrap their gifts, have a nice lunch, and receive a visit and a gift from Santa Claus.
For most of these children, this is the only Christmas they will have.
We are asking our friends in the community to help us sponsor the program. It takes over $50 per child to make this program a success each year. And we are looking for donations of any size to help us fund the program. If you choose to make a donation in someone’s honor, they will receive a holiday card stating your gift in their name to this wonderful cause.
